Two boroughs now. Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx come later.

Why it exists

The directory is built around one idea: finding the right tile store in New York City is harder than it should be.

New York City has hundreds of tile stores and showrooms. Very few of them say plainly what they specialise in, what they cost, or whether you need an appointment before you turn up. That gap is the whole reason this list exists.

There is no cost, no email signup, and no account required to access any information in the directory.

02

The removed list names 9 real businesses, so it is not published here.

How Stores Are Selected

Every store in the directory is a dedicated tile showroom. The curation exists so that every result you find is actually worth visiting.

The test is narrow and it was written down before the directory was built: the directory only includes stores where tile is the core business.

9 showrooms came off the working list for failing it. Three were bath and fixture brands, two were decorative plumbing showrooms, one was a home improvement centre, one was a hardwood flooring company, and two were luxury mosaic manufacturers. All of them sell tile. For none of them is tile the business.

9 materials, 3 price tiers, 8 neighbourhoods.

What the order means

Results are sorted by specialty, not just inventory. A store that genuinely specializes in marble appears above a store that merely carries it.

Tiles NYC is an independent editorial resource. No store pays for a listing and placement is not for sale.

04

What is missing, and why

There are no ratings and no review counts anywhere on this site. Nothing in the material the directory was built from has them, and a score invented for a real business is the one mistake a list like this cannot come back from.

Where a store has supplied photographs of its own room, those are what the listing shows, and they are labelled as the showroom. Everything else is licensed tile photography of a material, and none of it is presented as a particular store’s premises. Where the data holds no email address or no Instagram handle, the listing leaves the line out instead of filling it in: 16 listings have no email on file.

05

Whether those nine can be named here is still an open question.

Who keeps it

Tiles NYC publishes no company name, no postal address and no phone number, and this page is not going to invent one. What it can show you is the standard above and what the standard cost: 9 showrooms that stock tile are not in the directory, because stocking tile is not the same thing as being a tile store.

The directory is the part worth your time: showrooms you can narrow by material, price and neighbourhood. Open the directory. What has been tested for accessibility, and what has not, is set out in the accessibility statement.

Every showroom in the directory sits on one page, filtered by material, budget level or neighborhood.
